Well I feel like a REALLY bad friend so hello, I’m Mandy, and I have a problem. It’s saying NO to things. LOL You see I love working hard and helping others.
But seriously, I have been very busy for a long while now and so I wanted to touch base, say hello, maybe fill you in on a few of the awesome things that have been happening.
During the fall I sowed a lot of good seeds as other projects came to a close. I’m so glad I did because those seeds came to fruition in wonderfully unexpected ways. I accepted a 20-hour a week job with the Department of Arkansas Heritage as a Public Information Officer and I picked up an amazing social media client who has become a dear friend. Plus, I have been writing articles for a local publication.
A friend and I started a project called Come on to My House which takes me back to my roots of television production with YouTube segments under the categories of grow . create . inspire. During the first quarter of the year, launching this project took a lot of my free time but it was so rewarding. I felt fulfilled in creating this content and getting back in touch with my roots by editing the segments under the guidance of my friend’s production company. In exchange for the use of equipment and editing software, I am managing the social media accounts for two of my friend’s bands. Local TV stations have taken notice of Come on to My House and I have been active with doing live broadcasts for them since the spring.
In March, I contributed by time and talents to a wonderful event at Arkansas Children’s Hospital called a la Carte. While I was listed as the Decor Chair, really our amazing chairperson came up with the design that was beautifully executed by Just Peachy balloons and Landers Visions— my role was really interpreter in chief and head bossy lady who pointed at things that needed to be done. The event was a roaring success thanks to our chair and hard working committee.
Soon after a la Carte, I joined the board of Argenta Community Theater, and was asked to be the honorary chair of their first annual Encore! for Education event. I’m looking forward to much more with this organization!
So while all of these awesome things are swirling around me— success with Come on to My House, new social media clients, and writing projects— that means social posting for myself sometimes slips by the wayside. I hope you understand. But I’m still here. I still have a few social slots available for summer-winter 2019, and I still work off three month contracts.
